[MPlayer-users] Make error: libmpdemux/libmpdemux.a(open.o)

I get the following error when making the mplayer0.60 (on Debian)

open.o(.text+0x1ac): undefined reference to `autodetectProtocol'
open.o(.text+0x1ef): undefined reference to `streaming_start'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [mplayer] Error 1

I was using 0.50 before and it used to work fine.
