Installed these Nvidia patches to LM8.2 using kernel-2.4.18-6mdk.
NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-2880.i386.rpm
NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2880.mdk82up.i586.rpm
All video outputs now work to some extent but there is no brightness
control with any -vo and here are some additional comments: Running
tests with mplayer -ao oss:/dev/dsp1 -vo xxx dvd://1
-vo sdl:x11 - big pic; no onscreen menu control, too dark
-vo xv - doing what it was designed to do
-vo x11 - ibid
-vo gl - no pic: 1/3 of mplayer2 window is taken over by large
pink rectangle; rest of window black; no onscreen menu control
-vo gl2 - pic plays in 2/3 of mplayer2 window; 1/3 large black
rectangle; no onscreen menu control
-vo dga - framebuffer mapping failure; no pic, menu or gui control
-vo sdl - big pic; no onscreen menu control
-vo fbdev - ugly!!!; totally splashed colours everywhere across
top of desktop outside viewer.
-vo aa - digital imagery at its best; pic reversed in b&w made up
of numbers & symbols; looks like some Winamp thing
