[MPlayer-users] GCC 2.96 <<-- no ... not a bugreport

Hi Johannes,
		This may not be a good idea as gcc-2.95.4 is not an
official release as per http://gcc.gnu.org/releases.html .

The mplayer developers will find it harder to explain why they don't
support the unofficial gcc-2.96 (redhat/mandrake) while they r going for
the unofficial gcc-2.95.4 (gentoo). Besides, who gaurantees that gentoo
binaries will be compatible with redhat/mandrake libraries ?
Remember, its not gcc alone but the whole redhat/mandrake distro libs
that have been compiled with the buggy gcc-2.96 .
