mplayer relies on compile time options, so producing binary-packages is
kind of stupid, since they will only work on a very limited number of
hosts.

If you are able to *read* and able to *understand* what is written, you
won't have any problems compiling mplayer. But today, people don't read
manuals, they want the solution *NOW* and they want it *AT ONCE*, shoved
right up their [censored]. "Why read, why bother, others should do the
thinking for me, I just want to consume ..."

Blargh, this sucks.
