well, only a 1-line file for each directory and only when a new language
is introduced.  and I would expect they would be maintained like any
other file on the master mirror and not be manually added by each mirror
admin (like I was doing just to try it out).  really it would make it so
you don't have to go to each mirror admin and prod them into making
changes to the virthost configurations because you have the control over
the situation through htaccess files.

again, I don't much care either way, but when you say that it sounds
like a lot of work...  :)
