Could be. I have a G550 and a 2GHz Athlon something (can't remember
what exactly) and have normaly no problems watching 720p (depends on
the files, i have some that use too much CPU). 1080p is not possible
due to a limitation in the output filter of the G550 (i have not figured
out yet, how to workaround it).

Now, about the g450 you have. For video playing itself, it should
be fast enough. The problem will be the Back End Scaler (BES),
resp it's horizontal filter. It needs to be switched of for horizontal
video resolutions larger than 1023, which i do for the G550, but
i don't know whether the G450 can do the same (nobody tested it
until now).

How did you display 1080i/p on your G450? using -vo x11?
Because Xvideo refuses to support anything above 1024 pixels
(both horizontal and vertical) and mga_vid doesn't support
vertical resolutions larger than 1023 pixels.

Which i would assume.
