While we're at it:

I experience this stuttering with some videos when played with lavc=9000
or 8000. I have to go down to 5000 to get a more-or-less smooth video.
The problematic scenes are always high motion scenes like zoom in/our or
e.g. the beginning of matrix (the falling green symbols).
What is interesting is, that I have two videos of the same movie but
from different sources with slighlty different resolutions. One version
can only be play with lavc=5000 or less whereas the other version
doesn't have a problem with e.g. lavc=8000.
It looks a bit like the processor isn't fast enough but it is actually a
P4 with 2.4 GHz and it has a maximum load of ~50% when I play those
videos. Even dumping the video into an mpeg file reveales the same
problems. So it seems to me that the internal MPEG encoder has some
problems.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Juri
