That's what I did before, except with pserver instead of ext (and port
2401, which was necessary for pserver but turns out to have been what
ext complained about). I believe I've got it working now.

And Michael, as to cvs-howto.txt: I've read it at least once, but every
time I actually need to figure something about CVS out I seem to forget
that the file even exists. I'll go over it in detail before I do
anything else with CVS around here...
