Just a suggestion: I'd consider independently benchmarking the speed
results of 8x8dct before suggesting it in 2 out of 3 examples. One of
the reasons I never bothered doing so was because it almost always gained
less than 0.05dB (exception: intra-only encodes, where 8x8 gains a whole
heck of a lot). Ateme's encoder reportedly gets more benefit from 8x8,
so my personal plan was to not bother highlighting the option until
maybe x264 showed more benefit from it as well.
