I don't see the connection?
The point is if there was an up-to-date SVN repository we wouldn't need to do anything as we already use svn:external.
So I can't see what the point would be of automatically running svn co, that would be adding code for no useful result.
Neither is going to give a non-ancient version of the library, which is why I want to remove them.
