j-b was never a maintainer of libdvdnav.  Possibly Erik and Dominik 
were, but none had much time to devote to it.  Are you thinking of 
libdvdcss maybe?

Which repo would you like to point to?  The svn repo?  Erik's Git? 
Which one was official?  There was not much movement from one to the 
other, one had patches that would not land in the other ...

There are not many library users, vlc and MPlayer mostly.  End users 
come in contact through vlc.  And vlc users were pissed, yes.  libdvdnav 
accounted for most of the vlc crashes while DVD watching is only a small 
fraction of vlc usage.

libdvdnav is permanently moving to git now, with proper authorship 
information even.  People are working on it.  This is progress.
