What I remember is:
- Moving to a distributed revision control system was widely considered an
useful move.
- The consensus mostly settled on Git.
- There was a long phase of discussions about the practical problems. A lot
of work was done by Janne Grau.
- Alex Converse (*) reported that Janne Grau (*) offered to temporarily host
the Git repository on videolan.org, as they already have a reliable Git
infrastructure.

- A lot of people answered to support that idea, some of them with
enthusiasm. Among them were Martin Storsjö (#), Jason Garrett-Glaser (*),
Ronald S. Bultje (*), Luca Barbato (*). Michael did not intervene in this
thread.
(*) Committer of the "new team".
(#) Undersigned the "new team" announce.
