the issue is that the people working on ffmpeg-mt refuse to work toward
merging the code back into main ffmpeg.
So there are 2 different apis and lots of bugs that would be caught during
review but no submitted patches, no review ...

personally i would not be surprised to see someone else reimplement frame
based multithreading and that reaching main ffmpeg before we see a single
patch for ffmpeg-mt being submitted.
