It's not surprising that users don't want to change their workflow
because of missing a single feature. Always fixing just a little bit of
MEncoder is the path of least resistance if you look at one issue at a
time without a larger perspective. However it's not like vobsub support
would be the last or only piece of functionality missing from MEncoder.
Users will be requesting something else next. If you set things up for
an easy to use piping-based workflow then you get quite a lot more than
just vobsub support.
