The reason is that the patch has not been reviewed (though I just did
that).
The reason it has not been reviewed is that I have been busy with other
things and do not care too much about this feature, and this is not in
an area of code that is properly maintained so I seem to be the only one
ready to review the patch (Diego handles mostly only build
system/documentation stuff).
Yes it sucks, but I at least can't magically wave a hand and change that.
