these play just fine. however, they appear to be in espanol (that or
the decoder makes english sound like spanish). they are single channel,
64khz sampled, 8khz rate.

vlc plays the video for sure. however, i wanted to use mplayer.
no idea if vlc supports g.722. i can now play my g.722 rtp stream
with:
mplayer -demuxer rawaudio -rawaudio channels=1:bitrate=64000:rate=16000:format=0x41 rtp://239.192.1.52:56522\?multicast=1
however, rtp contains enough information to tell mplayer what decoder
to use.
