Patch OK.

I really wonder why it have been done this way to begin with (the
corresponding call in xvmc is not using less-than-one dimensions).

Also there was attempt to remove the special handling of fullscreen
mode where it also decreased the dimensions. But I still see that it
is done here and there.
I believe the originally this was done to workaround ancient nvidia bug.
