I haven't studied the guts of this patch much.

I do know you provide a configure option to prevent the new code
being enabled (compiled-in).

With the new code compiled-in, is there a _run-time_ option to turn
the patch 'off', say, if I want OSX to control the volume rather
than whether/if mplayer is the foreground task (vis-à-vis the
Finder).  Right now this is the major objection I have: that mplayer
grabs all of the remote's keys no matter what (I have a 24-inch iMac
now, Core2Duo, with one of these nifty remote controls!).

Thanks heaps, tho, this feature is very nice to have.
