This may take forever :) Major features are already supported, so this should 
not be the reason for delaying release.

One thing I'd like to see in 1.0 is mencoder support for SSA/ASS rendering. It 
was not committed back then because feeding pts to mencoder filter chain 
broke some lavc encoders. AFAIK, the situation is still the same. Maybe it is 
possible to drop pts in ve_lavc or in vf_ass ? Or we can resurrect the 
function for setting pts in vf_ass directly from mencoder main loop.
