IMO it's not ao_alsa that's buggy, but rather ALSA itself. Things like
dmix especially. Unless you have a way to prevent it from fucking up
MPlayer with its hidden forks and such, ALSA should not be default.
IMO ALSA is bad enough that we should be raging/flaming against it to
get people to realize it sucks like we did with gcc 'two point nine
six', not making it default.
