I'm for as soon as possible.
1) This already is a never-ending story - waiting longer will mean delaying
some important but testing-needed patches even further and hinder development further.
2) There are some security-related patches.
3) It won't be more broken than pre7 (esp. when H.264 is concerned).
4) I just tested current SVN on Windows, Linux, FreeBSD and OpenSolaris and
it seems to work (some non-MPlayer problems on OpenSolaris though).
Btw. I couldn't reproduce the binary codecs problems on FreeBSD...
