And this is probably a source for your problems.  Start using
Subversion, you will not regret it and it will make your life easier.
Here's a guide that should get you started:

If the code still compiles and works after 1, then this is a way to go.

But a general question: Have you read the thread about the new
translation system?  Does this patch take that thread into account?
