BTW: could you send some machine readable release notifications ?
(perhaps could also be done by some script ...)

I would be very happy with this (need it for my buildfarm project ...),
perhaps other people also would like it.

This notification could be a plain email with in a form like this:


package:	mplayer
version:	a.b.c.d
stability:	(testing|alpha|beta|stable|mature)
source:		<url1> <format> <md5>
source:		<url2> <format> <md5>
...
notice:		<notice>
notice:		...
...


If someone likes it, I'd setup a small mailbot, which generates better
human readable outputs from that (maybe also a html-file for the website)
