While the final file is playable with mplayer, it often doesn't work with a hardware player when burned to a (s)vcd/dvd - bad sound sync, entire unplayable sections, etc. Actually, the sound sync may be an issue even when playing with mplayer. I end up using vo yuv4mpeg and mjpegtools for all of my avi->mpg conversions. Levi
