I know how ignorant linuxer are, especialy those who are still new
to it. But then you should make your voice heard. Send patches to
the projects you use. Let them see that *bsd is an important platform
which needs some special care.
Just staying silent because noone knowsr/cares whether you exist or not
isnt a solution.

Uhm.. i expect a maintainer of a package/port for any software to follow
the development of it closely. This includes being subscribed on the
devel mailinglist.
