Yeah, the old one was fast and for those files it couldn't play or crashed you
could use ffmpeg which was almost as fast.

iive said the main slowdown between old and new libmpeg comes from
chroma 422/444 decoding... Does ffmpeg support this?

Re compiler, gcc 3.3.3... Bootstrapping 2.95.3 and 3.4.something will take
me awhile, if not too long. Anyone else wanna post some benchmarks
refuting the results I got?
