[MPlayer-dev-eng] remotely controlling MPlayer (from another program)

Hi,

i'd like MPlayer to play some audio or video stream, just
what MPlayer normally does.

But at some external event i'd like it to:

- save its state (for continuing)
- play something else, some different audio or video stream
- continue witht the first stream

Is some functionality like this already implemented somehow?

Can i have this functionality by some other way?
