Hello everyone!

I have used the mencvcd script in the past, and found
it a wonderful tool. I now have a dvd burner, and
failed in my search for a simple mencvcd-like tool for
converting to dvd compliant video, so I decided to
write one myself.

It's a perl script that behaves much in the fashion of
mencvcd, but it is meant to output dvd compliant mpeg2
video.

As mencvcd, it uses mjpegtools for the video encoding,
and toolame for audio encoding. It also requires that
perl threads are enabled.

I have succesfully tested it on transcoding a DivX
movie into one that would play on a regular dvd
player.

I was wondering if this script (or a variation on it)
could be included in the mplayer distribution, much as
mencvcd is. If anyone wants the script, you can get it
at
