Well... it's not exact, but I think it's OK anyway.
The "scale factor" thing was just an example. If you provide 2 params, 
then they don't act exactly as a scale factor, but they are convined 
with default values to give something reasonable. I don't think it makes 
sense to give the exact calculations for every case since the effects 
are pretty intuitive.
