[MPlayer-dev-eng] [PATCH] Add extension parsing before demuxing ...

Hi,

before you start crying, just wait a minute and think:

This patch will add autodetection by extension ...

It'll call demux_open twice, if autodetection fails ...

This will be made optional ... (by some switch -guess-file/-noguess-file or
some other more inutitive option)

It'll not interfere if file_format is already correctly set ...

Why is this good ?

We all have nice and fast machines, but there are some like a pda, which
Balatoni Denes tries to port mplayer to ...

And this pda is slow ... It'll take 10 secs for mplayer to detect the correct
demuxer if it is for example real ...

And I don't think it can break anything to try one format twice (if it don't
succeeds)

Ok, now you can start crying and flaming at me ;-)

Patch attached (sorry, it also has latest playtree_parser-fallback patch in)

cu

Fabian

PS: Do you think this can find its way to mplayer, if it is made optional ?
