Yes this is true. But by the way, -af is still broken with mencoder!
:(( If you use -af resample=44100, it resamples down to 44100, but
then back up to 48000 like mplayer used to do. Apparently mencoder
needs the same fix that was applies to mplayer a month or so ago
regarding audio filter initialization...
