[MPlayer-dev-eng] Can I help mplayer to have gettext support?

One current weak point about mplayer is its translation system.

I offer help to convert it to use gettext. To be able to work side by
side with the evolving project, I propose to create some scripts whhich
will create the needed files from the current ones.

As an example I include a simple script which will convert all
help_mp-*.h files into their equivalent .po files. The script needs
bash, join, sed, and cpp (with the -dD option).

Now I need to create a script which will traverse the sources and
replace the macro identifier with the english message (surrounded by _()).

I'm not subscribed to the list, please CC any replies.
