Frankly I do not care much about the order of the steps.  Without
external codecs MPlayer can already play a few movie types.  But since
the focus is still at the command line at the moment we might as well
change the order.

Hmm.  See below.

I haven't really included the commands necesary to perform the
described steps anywhere.  It would probably be easier if they were
included, but when I asked on -users nobody answered so the jury is
still out on that.  Opinions?

Would be nicer, but I doubt he'll do it.  That's hardly more than a
cosmetic change.

Yes, you are right, ASF is a file format, not a codec.  Corrected.
The second class falls under the obscure movie types ;-)
