Just a matter of factual accuracy, but I don't recall lavc ever being
included in MPlayer CVS. I may however be mistaken on that point, but
someone should check it out.

Is there a reason this directory still exists. IMHO it'd be nice to
remove it so:

1) New users realize immediately that lavc is NOT included.

2) Newbies who don't understand how to mv/cp don't put their good copy
of lavc in the wrong place, e.g. ./libavcodec/libavcodec.

Also Indeo and various other old crappy codecs.
