IMO the problem is that the mplayer man page uses lots of fixed
spacing and literal formatting rather than proper groff markup. It
should be possible to make the option and suboption descriptions wrap
and align automatically so that the 80 column thing becomes a
non-issue, and so that the html output looks right.

Unfortunately I know nothing about making man pages, so I can't give
advice on how to do it right, but I think it's possible and someone
should probably look into it at some point.
