[Mplayer-dev-eng] better playback of damaged files

hi.

i might have an idea on how to improve the playback of damaged files.

currently mplayer exits when reaching a damaged part it can't interpret and
to see the remaining part of the file one has to skip after the damaged
part. so instead of exiting instantly mplayer could compare the position in
the file (the amount of bytes played) with the actual length of the file
and, if they differ, try to synchronize to a position shortly after, so
playback could continue.

would this work?
