Of course, that is most reasonable in that case ... 

Answer to A'rpi:

Thanks for your reply, A'rpi - what a pity that the demuxer/streaming code
is not byteorder-safe, I just had MPlayer in a preliminary compiling stage
after "Frankensteining" around all over the code :-) 

Well, well, back to pos 0 ... 

If there is no other player (depending on Christopher's answer):
which version of mpg12player should I start from ? Seems like there was a
kind of seamless transition from mpg12player to MPlayer, hard for me to
find the breaking point :-)
