Create a larger viewport and draw OSD above or below video.
If that is not possible. Don't print it at all. You can't have everything.

Or add the copy routine, but use it only when OSD is on. If you switch
it off, you have full speed. If anybody really wants to see it, it's his
own fault, if the system gets slower.
