[Mplayer-dev-eng] --prefix troubles

Hi guys

Thanks for implenting the --prefix switch. I just tried using it, with 
--prefix=/home/andre/apps, but during 'make install' I get this message:

install -g root -o root -m 755 -s mplayer /home/andre/apps/bin
install: cannot change ownership of `/home/andre/apps/bin/mplayer': Operation not permitted

Should it try to change the owernership to root even if I'm not installing
to /usr/local?
