[MPlayer-cygwin] failed -vo directx, windows 98

Hello,

I am running MPlayer dev-CVS-050928-16:38-3.4, mingw32 build on
Windows 98 SE. the problem is that video playback performs really
terribly. The obvious reason is thie error message:

<vo_directx><FATAL ERROR>failed geting proc address: DirectDrawCreateEx
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

after which the player switches video output to gl.

directx is of version 6.1a, all DirectDraw tests in dxdiag run fine.
hardware specs are: celeron 700, trident cyberblade ai1 agp (99), 128
ram.

please, do you have any suggestions?
