[MEncoder-users] Mencoder not copying aac to mp4

Ops... My mistake... Wrong command, but even using "-of lavf" and "-lavfopts
format=mp4" it doesn't copy the audio but accepts reencoding it. (but
anyway, shouldn't avi be able to handle aac?)

When I force with the -fafmttag I get:

[mp4 @ 0x1e09230]Codec for stream 0 does not use global headers but
> container format requires global headers
>
[mp4 @ 0x1e09230]Codec for stream 1 does not use global headers but
> container format requires global headers
>

I'm able to play the files on MPlayer itself but not on my cell phone...

Actually, I found this on MPlayer's documentation:

As you can see, libavformat allows MEncoder to mux into a considerable
> variety of containers. Unfortunately, as MEncoder was not designed from the

As a solution I've used mencoder to just encode the video and separate apps
to extract the audio and mux into a mp4 format (and worked perfectly).

Good afternoon...

I was trying to find a faster/better scriptable way to hardsub some files I
have than using avidemux and then ffmpeg, so I'm trying mencoder. The
problem is that I don't understand the reason for this error:

MEncoder 1.0rc4-4.5.2 (C) 2000-2010 MPlayer Team

My command line is: (with or without -lavfopts format=mp4 the result is the
same)

mencoder -endpos 20 -vf ass -vf dsize=640:360:0 -embeddedfonts -noskip -oac
copy -ovc lavc -lavfopts format=mp4 -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:vqmin=2:vqmax=5:vbitrate=1000000 file.mkv -o teste.mp4

If I force an aac reencode it works, how come it can't be copied? Also I
don't know how to use the -fafmttag to force aac...

OBS: Command line used to test the aac reencode:

mencoder -endpos 20 -vf ass -vf dsize=640:360:0 -embeddedfonts -noskip -oac
faac -faacopts quality=800 -ovc lavc -lavfopts format=mp4 -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:vqmin=2:vqmax=5:vbitrate=1000000 file.mkv -o teste.mp4

I appreciate your attention.
