I believe... if we put the original and the modified soundtrack next to 
each other, the difference would be obvious, but it's not a common case.

Anyway, I have already solved this issue with the "scaletempo" (thanks 
Grozdan) MPlayer/MEncoder option. That keeps original the pitch, but 
speeds up playback a bit. Yes, I know, it causes some distortion, but I 
was unable to hear any significant problem in my case, where the speed 
is increased by only 4%.
