[MEncoder-users] Send cookies with MEncoder before downloading a stream

I'm trying to send cookies with MEncoder while downloading a stream from
HTTP. However, enduring the load of the cookies.txt file, MEncoder says 

	Loading cookie file: cookies.txt
	Read is behaving funny.

The cookies do not reach the server of the HTTP stream. I'm using the
Netscape format for the cookies.txt file, e.g.:
.aol.com	TRUE	/	FALSE	1333549757	s_vi
[CS]v1|25DCF9C4051D057C-6000012FA0475EC9[CE]

The command is 
	mencoder "URL" -v -oac pcm -ovc copy -mc 0 -o "test.avi" -cookies
-cookies-file cookies.txt

How can I get this working?
