I don't want to spend a great amount of time on an encode and quality is
what I aim for rather than a target filesize, so crf wins over 2-pass by
a large margin. Also, I would really prefer something that doesn't
necessarily involve encoding. Things are much faster and easier when I
can preview the video with MPlayer.


I've found that pp=al helps some when hqdn3d does bad things to a
background that would be a solid color if not for the noise.
