[MEncoder-users] MEncoder and Lagarith (vfw) lossless codec

Hello,

I'm trying to encode with the Lagarith codec with the vwf driver. It
doesn't seem to work but I saw some people made it work years ago. I put
into codecs.conf (in ~/.mplayer/) the section described here
http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/V-codecs/lagarith/lagarith.txt I had to add
"release 20090821" to make mencoder not complain about comptability. I
dropped the lagarith.dll into the same directory and
into /usr/lib/win32/ too.

I tried to run `mencoder file.ts -nosound -ovc lagarith -o file` but
mencoder didn't found the codec (Option ovc: Unknown suboption
lagarith). Then I tried with -ovc vfw specifing the lagarith.dll but it
finished with a segfault error. Does that mean it wont work at all ?

If it isn't possible to use Lagarith I'm looking forward for another
lossless codec, fast of course.
