[MEncoder-users] mencoder stops before it finishes

hi everybody. it seems that mencoder encodes one scene of a movie and then it stops. i've ripped these dvd's before and i've never had a problem with it, and it's not just one dvd, it's all of them. the scene that it does record, i can play it back fine with mplayer. any help would be greatly appreciated.

 mencoder dvd://4 -dvd-device /dev/sr1 -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1200:mbd=2:vpass=1 -o frid.avi
