fixed-quantizer situation? I mean, a setting that helps in
my vbitrate 2-pass tests would probably also help
in a fixed-quantizer situation?

By the way, I would love a fixed-quality setting. I, like you, am not
too strict about file size. I just want the fewest bits for a level of
quality I find acceptable.

Is fixed-quantizer a good substitute for fixed-quality, or did you
just use due to lack of other options? I'll test it when I have time,
but I want your opinion
