[MEncoder-users] WMV problems

I'm having trouble with a web application that uses mencoder to encode wmv
videos.  The problem is that when it converts the videos the video and audio do
not sync up - usually the video plays FAR too fast.  If I look up the frame rate
of the WMV file and then specifc -ofps xx (xx being the frame rate) then it
converts fine.  The problem is I have no way of knowing what the frame rate of
the WMV files that are being uploaded are.  Any ideas?
