Me for two days and its driving me crazy!!

You must be nearly insane!

From what I can tell the log file is not created, but the output to
screen would be enough to create this using some nifty shell script.

The second pass fails probably due to it not having any input to work
with but Im gussing here.  On the face of it it doesnt seem a million
miles off working, but as with any programming problem its alyways
bigger than it seems.
