This takes absolutely forever to run on my machine processing but the
results are well worth the wait IMHO. You can try something like this
if you're working with an NTSC source...

mencoder -vf crop=704:480:0:0,yadif=3:1,mcdeint=2:1:10,framestep=2,scale=640:480
